Alyse Dusseault of Intuitively_Alyse on Instagram, is a reiki practitioner and grief coach based in Nashville, TN. After losing her partner and future husband in June of 2020, Alyse got a crash course on grief and all the many layers and emotions it encompasses. Through this, she discovered the beautiful spiritual connection she has with her partner and other loved ones in spirit. This connection helped her begin to heal as she candidly shared about her experiences with the world on social media. Now, Alyse uses the tools she has learned to help guide others who are grieving to reignite their own connections with loved ones on the other side, so that they may start to move forward with them, instead of moving on without them.

Brian Smith - Grief 2 Growth

Brian D. Smith is a certified life coach, a grief partner, and a small business consultant. He became what he calls “well acquainted with grief” in 2015, after the sudden passing of his younger daughter, fifteen-year-old Shayna. He wanted to stop living, but he had to learn to survive for the sake of his wife and their older daughter. Out of necessity, Brian dove deep into studying the nature of life, death, and how to survive grief, and now he uses all that he has learned to help others. Brian is the author of “Grief 2 Growth: Planted. Not Buried.” Its subtitle is “How to Survive and Thrive After Life’s Greatest Challenges.” He is also the host of the Grief 2 Growth podcast. 

 

I provide a safe space where you can safely share what you are experiencing. I share techniques that I discovered and developed after my devastating loss. Perhaps most importantly, I can help you understand that death is not goodbye and that your relationship with your loved one can continue. Any ending is a new beginning. My understanding is not a religious-based belief, but a position arrived at based on reason and evidence.

Shortly after Shayna transitioned, I discovered Helping Parents Heal, a non-profit peer-to-peer support group for parents of children who have passed. I volunteer with Helping Parents Heal and I am on the Board of Directors. I have worked with hundreds of parents who have lost children. I am also a volunteer and Vice President of the SoulPhone Foundation.

I am the author of “Grief 2 Growth: Planted. Not Buried.” I am the host and creator of the Grief 2 Growth podcast. I am on the Board of Helping Parents Heal. I am the Vice President of The SoulPhone Foundation.

Turning Heartbreak Into Action with Angela Kennecke

Award-winning investigative reporter and broadcast journalist, Angela Kennecke, has spent three decades keeping people informed on the evening news. Her investigative reports have resulted in changes to laws. She was named a 2021inductee to the South Dakota Hall of Fame.

In recent years, many of Angela’s stories focused on the growing opioid crisis. On the day her 21-year-old daughter, Emily, died of an overdose, Angela was working on a story on Good Samaritan Laws and overdose deaths. 

Emily died of fentanyl poisoning. Angela has taken Emily’s story nationwide and even internationally. Angela speaks tirelessly about the issues surrounding opioid addiction, a parent’s frustration and sense of helplessness and tells it all from the perspective of a mother who has lost her child. Angela started a charity called “Emily’s Hope,” because she never gave up hope on her daughter and now wants to offer hope to other families struggling with addiction.

Angela believes when tragedy and setbacks strike the only thing you have control over is your response. Angela’s response to the loss of her beautiful and beloved daughter is to turn heartbreak into action by erasing the stigma surrounding addiction and advocate for more funding, better treatment and more research and understanding of the disease claiming so many lives.

Diane Morgan - Give Grief A Chance

Diane Morgan is a Mindset and Grief Recovery Coach and Hypnotist. She provides both online and 1-to-1 in- person Grief Recovery support services.

I have had many years of experience helping people while working in the healing arts field. 

Over the years I recognized that on a daily basis, most of my clients shared their stories of loss. It was after completing the Grief Recovery Program I realized that many of them didn’t have the tools or relief I experienced after the completion of the program.

I also came to realize that after many personal losses of my own, I had been carrying around so much unresolved grief. After experiencing the loss of three miscarriages, moving to another country, losing numerous beloved pets, and finally all within eight months of each other I lost my dad, mum and my brother.  Even though I have a loving family, I felt lost alone and overwhelmed. I buried my grief because I told myself “I had to stay strong for my children.” 

It was only after doing the Grief Recovery Program that I was able to shine a light at my darkest feelings of grief, I was able to release those heavy emotions that I had carried with me for many years.

It is my honor to help individuals process their loss and find freedom from their grief. So that they can love themselves, feel confident, and make room for joy and purpose to come back into their lives.
